The Wadden Islands

The Wadden Islands lie in the North Sea like white pearls. Apart from Texel, all islands are accessible from the coastal area of Fryslân. Partly for this reason, Tulip Inn De Valk Franeker offers a couple of arrangements, which include day trips to one of the islands.

Vlieland is the smallest Island with only one village. It has been called the "Eldorado of tranquillity and beautiful nature".

Next to Vlieland, Terschelling can be found. This island is more attractive to people who seek conviviality, but is also praised for its long beaches.

Ameland frequently gives tourist the feeling of being in another world. They, however, seem to be incapable give solid reasons for this. The atmosphere on Ameland appears to be something you have to experience by yourself.

The most eastern island is Schiermonnikoog, which is known for its peaceful, quiet and clean nature. It is not coincidental that the island has been named "National Park".
